The corporate and investment banking arm of Credit Agricole, Calyon, has appointed Swaroop Patel as head of debt & credit markets (DCM) for Asia ex-Japan.
Patel replaces Antoine Gros, who is promoted to Global Co-Head of Securitisation based in Paris. He will be based in Hong Kong and take responsibility for strengthening and managing Asia ex-Japan DCM businesses, including origination, sales and trading. He will report to Frédéric Lainé, head of fixed income markets for Asia ex-Japan, and Jim Siracusa, global head of debt & credit markets.
Swaroop joins from Bank of America where he was head of debt capital raising for Asia-Pacific. Prior to that, he spent four years at ABN AMRO as head of G3 fixed income capital markets for Asia and also spent eight years at JPMorgan in various debt and corporate finance positions in Asia and New York.
Lainé said, "We are pleased that Swaroop is joining Calyon's DCM team in Asia ex-Japan. He has a history of being at the forefront of the development of Asia's debt and credit markets, and he brings the expertise and depth of experience necessary to assist us to develop a strong debt capital raising platform for our clients in Asia."
