ING Investment Management Asia/Pacific (ING IM) has appointed Navin Suri as chief executive of its Indian investment management operations.
Prior to joining ING IM India in August 2008 as vice president and director, sales & distribution, Suri was based at Singapore with Citi where worked as head of sales for investment products for Asia Pacific (2004 to 2006), and immediately before his new role with ING as Asia Pacific head of sales & distribution for its retail banking business.
He will report to Eddy Belmans, regional general manager for ING IM Asia Pacific.
Commenting on the news, Belmans said: "India is one of our most important growth markets and I am pleased that Navin has agreed to step up to this key role. With more than 17 years of sales and distribution management experience, both in India and in the Asia Pacific region, having spent six months in front line sales getting to know the company, Navin is best able to lead the next phase of growth, further developing the strong foundation we have built to date in India."
