International rating agency Fitch Ratings has opened a new office in Bangalore, India.

Fitch now has five offices in India located in Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.

Sashi Kumar, associate director at Fitch, has been appointed as its representative for the Bangalore office. Kumar has over 10 years of investment banking experience in South India.

Amit Tandon, managing director and chief executive of Fitch India, said: "The opening of our new Bangalore office reflects our commitment to providing high quality research to the multinational corporates, local IT and financial sectors in the South India region."

Fitch is recognised by the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Reserve Bank of India and National Housing Bank.
